my 07fx had the urethane coated uppers - the would freeze up and flat spot - my 09rtx has the solid plastic - they dont seem to have the spokes on them like the old ones, and when they freeze up, they dont seem to flat spot like the old ones - i usually check them if i see the snow turning to ice - even when they were flat spotted i didn't seem to notice.

I would imagine if the diameters all work and they're replacable..........why not look at? You might have to look for an odd ball bearing.Groomer08 said:question...is the insert pocket in the wheel the same?

Just looked thru my parts books.... these upper have a 6006 bearing, which is quite the oddball bearing, these phazers have 3 different sizes to them, 6005 in the front lowers, 6004 in the rear lowers, and 6006 in the uppers.... i cannot find any listing for a 6006 bearing... looks like you may be stuck ordering stock!!!... try port yamaha, they seem to have the best prices....
I just had these whells off last night... and the shaft is designed for that 6006 bearing... not alot of room for another size....

After looking everywhere i gave up and went stock.
they are either in from port yamaha or on the way to my house and will be there when i return from this work trip which keeps me from my sleds.
im going nuts.
I dont like being in a hotel all week and being unable to do anything in the shop with my hands.
although they did seem to find me some trouble last nite till 4am...ha ha!

Are the 09's white in color? If so thats good news!Sounds like another unadvertised improvement Yamaha has made that we can add to the list.

new ones deff arent white.
solid black plastic, no rubber, one offset hole looks like a inche in diameter. must be for grease gun or some bolt removal. should find out this week.
HUGE bearing in these things.

Yes very large bearing. The hole from what I remember is very handy when taking the skid apart.
