Update on wheel mod

Thanks Grunter.Looks like your solution is best out there till someone decides to make a wheel for us.

12/12/12 -> Works perfect! no issues, no shenanigans(wheel freezing due to ice locking on the hole), no flat spots, no failure - just the way it should of been from the start! :flag:

Upper wheels?

i do believe so, ill let you know when i change them this weekend when skids out to install freeride track

I own a 2007 Pazer GT.
I just replaced the upper idler wheels this July.
The FX model of the same year used a solid white wheel. White being stronger then black since they lack the dye which weakens the plastic. The GT came with spoked black.
Why they would do that I have no idea.
since then the GT model has had a revision with this part and although the wheel is not white it is now solid and black, with a small hole to enable access to the shock mount.

They seem stronger then the spoked model since the spokes where thin and allowed to much wheel flex especially when riding hard on twisty trails. The new ones are a lot nicer in that regard but come at a hefty $80 CND each.

Does the skid have to be out of the sled to replace these wheels or can it be done still installed?

You have to drop the rear bolts at least, so 1/2 way out ;):D

OK, but the front mounting bolts can stay? So the skid remains in the track?

That's correct, just unload your torsion springs (from the idler wheels on rails) and remove rear bolts and it should swing down far enough. I would recommend you just loosen front bolts to aid this and prevent binding. I put on Hygear spacers on the wifes Phazer using this method.

Any more advice on replacing the wheel.....I'm doing it this weekend and would appreciate any additional tips
