Hi.
I had a problem with my fuel pump relay and while I was trying to sort that out I accidentally fried the transistor in the ECU that grounds the fuel pump relay to activate it. I have temporary fixed it by grounding the relay directly to the battery, in this way the fuel pump starts as soon as I turn on the ignition but it does not shut down the fuel pump after a while or when the engine stops running.
So my fuel pumps works and the engine is running but I have fault code 43, "ECU is unable to monitor the battery voltage". This battery voltage supply to the ECU is via the fuel pump relay and that relay is active now. If I go in to diagnostics menu 09 I can see that it is reading the battery voltage correct. According to the service manual it should be enough to start the engine and let it idle to remove the fault code.
How do I get rid of it?

I think you may have fried more than you think and need to replace the ECU.

That code should go away once diagnostics detect there isn't a problem anymore. In "diag mode" # 60 is the list of codes that have been thrown in memory. Any more than your 43?
There is a way to clear all codes but it doesn't do anything as it only stores codes for dealership/mechanic troubleshooting a problem and having some history on past problems.
Hope that helps.

It might be that since the ECU can't detect any current running when it should try to ground the relay it thinks that the relay is broken. No more fault codes. And I am on the hunt for a "new" ECU but there is a limited supply in Sweden and they seem to be made out of gold so I might have to order from USA.

Yes. Nothing on #61, a 1 on #62 that is not possible to clear.
