2015 Arctic Cat XF 9000 Green (Turbo)
This year we put Mohawks on our 2015 R-TX-DX and my 2015 CAT XF9000. We now have about 500 miles on up in the U.P. and have run most all trail conditions. These skis are 7-3/8" wide and are great when you get off trail or on loose fresh snow on the trail. On trail we are running the 6" SLP carbides on both sleds. I worried about darting which I had with the CAT skis and have very little (not enough to bother me). I was able to steer confidently with one hand and signal. Strangely, these skis as wide as they are perform fantastic on trails. In tight twisties I was able to rail through turns and stay completely on my side of the trail. This even with my turbo CAT which really lays down some HP (TD 2 stage tune) with full studs and a 137" track. I believe this has to do with how flexible these skis are. They seem so stay connected extremely well through bumpy turns and varying loose/pack/ice conditions that can all be in one turn. They don't push at all like the stock tuners on the viper (studded up the middle only but lays down lots of torque). On long winding U.P. trails with lots of loose to packed snow these skis perform great at some very high speeds over varying bumps and long turns. The steering effort is just right. They provide great trail feedback and enough control to handle any minor darting without tossing the sled around and light enough to steer with one hand when needed for signalling or adjusting things. I would not call it "light" steering, but medium to light steering effort. My max days this season were 150-160 miles and no fatigue from steering whatsoever. These Mohawk skis completely changed the handling and feel of both these sleds and we are 100% happy with them. They are a little pricey but well worth it. IMHO.
I can't say these are the best skis, or better than any other skis, other than the Stock OEM CAT skis on my XF9000 and the Tuner IIs on our 2015 Viper RTXDX, and much much better.
