I am new to Yamaha sleds and I am currently shopping for a Nytro for myself and a Phazer for my wife and kids to ride.
I have found a real nice 07 Phazer but it has an aftermarket exhaust. I don't want the extra noise.
I understand that the factory exhaust needs to be cut and then the aftermarket exhaust is a slip on.
I have done some searches on here but I can not find photos of how much or exactly what is cut off?
The owner has the stock parts, but is it possible to 'reattach' the cut off part? or what would I need to purchase to put it back to stock?

Are you cutting of the big muffler/silencer from the main pipe and then attaching a slip on exhaust?
The Hartman exhaust is only supposed to be 1-2 dB louder than stock. Maybe I can take the flow thru glass pack style muffler (owner does not know the brand but bought it from the local Yamaha Dealer) that is on it now and replace it with something aftermarket that is quieter.

I have a stock exhaust I'll sell you for $25. Nothing wrong with it, it looks just like the stock one in the picture above. I cut it off and installed a gytr exhaust, which is actually a Skinz Ultra Q exhaust. You'd need two clamps and a short section of pipe to mount it. The Ultra Q is only 1-2db louder than stock, or so I've been told, I haven't used it yet. I hope it's not loud, if it is I'll be looking for a stock set up.

Cool looking sled.
Are you sure it's a GT? It looks like an 08 RTX that someone added the tall windshield to.
No wind deflectors on the headlight cover or side panels which GTs have, wrong handle bars for an 07 GT and the rear shocks are from an RTX. Also, 07 didn't have the side pannels under the gas tank, they were rubber flaps. As a side note the colour combo is not a stock 07 scheme.
The MTX skis and the stretch (looks like an MTX bumper) look good and the fox floats in the front are nice.
Can you post a picture of the rear mount for the skid? It looks a little different.

No, I am not sure it is a GT. Could be an 08 RTX
I looked at it a couple of weeks ago.
I am new to Yamaha sleds. What is the difference between a GT and an RTX?

I just checked my notes. Yes it is an 08 RTX. I have been looking at different machines and mixed it up. Good catch.

It looks like someone has done a skid set back. Any idea what track that is or who made the rail extensions?

Oh and to answer your question in the first post you can reattach the stock muffed with a exhaust band clamp.

Sweet Phazer. Great buy. That for sure is an 08" RTX stretched. I bet that muffler is load for sure. Enjoy G.B.
