Any info would be greatly appreciated. I currently own an RX-1 with a fully clipped 1 1/4 track with anti-ratchet drivers and reverse. I am going to buy an RTX and I will again run the ant-ratchets. I am trying to decide on the track I will run and if I shuold buy reverse. My question is if anyone has done any back to back testing with 1 inch and 1 1/4 tracks for top end comparisons. I know some claim that most of the top end loss with a taller track is from the supercharging effect of the track running into the tight area near the drivers. Does this not effect the RX-1 because of the exhaust running through there and not having a smooth surface to "seal" the air in. Info on other sleds tested with different tracks and thoughts on the amount of performance loss reverse adds would be great to.

If you are racing 1000 ft runs the 1 1/4 will get you there faster .Mine as reverse and have no problems with other sleds with no reverse.I now run 1 1/2 track with better ET.

keep both

Reverse does not lose any noticable mph over nonreverse,it only weighs 6 lbs and the old therie of being geared lower does not hold much water either, neither does 1" vrs 1.25 i used to think like you are and swaped out 1.25 for 9830 used no reverse all the lame stuff we do to go 2 mph faster than our buds, horse #*$&@,if all you are going to do is agressive trail ride get both or all(electric start, reverse and 1.25 track) you wont go wrong, now if you are going to stay at the lake all day playing on ice and only run 1/4 mile races than set it up for that and forget about riding it as a snow sled and only race it,good luck. :4STroke:

Blue Shadow

Thanks for the info guys. Top speed lake racing is a important to me, so are you telling me the 1 1/4 won,t effect top end. Blue Shadow did you lose more top end when you installed the 1 1/2.

The 1.25 track wont effect top end much, but if you are going to race short distance on ice ya need to stud and studding a 1.25 track for ice does not make much sense,go with a 1/2 track and install ice pics, this will let you hook up NOW which is what you need to compete in drag racing, and even top end running, but if you are strictely trail riding and running your buds down a rail bed the sled with 1.25 track plus rev. wont be as much of a disadvantage as you would think, its your call, good luck.

Like mnmsnowbeast said it all depends what type of racing you do_On ice you don t need a big track. All you need is 1/2 track with pics.On snow the 1 1/2 will get you up and gone with more ET.ET is what you want not top speed in drag racing. On rader in 800 ft I do 86 miles were other do 92 and still can t beat me.
