Reverse won't engage unless no resistance on drive line

I have used the specified Yamaha lube.

I'm having the same issue and was wondering if you fixed this and what it was.
Mines been an issue for a couple years and is under warranty and took it to two dealers. First dealer did upper gear bushing in the spring and next winter would not work while riding or coming out of trailer but worked fine inside on a lift. I ran It the rest of season this way because didnt want to miss out.
Second year tried another dealer and they found nothing wrong. Like i said it works on a lift with no tension so they said it was tried sitting on the ground and no issues found. It would randomly work the rest of last season. I tried a heavy duty reverse motor but same result
This summer i went through myself chaincase and rest of problem areas and installed dmc top gear, efi chaincase skate, checked belt tension etc and seems to be working fine on a lift but not sure i fixed it. Its a 2020 srx

I found this sled likes the belt a little lower in the sheave than normal. I run an ultimax exactly even or just slightly under, which has worked for me.

Belt deflection must be correct for transmision or in this case chaincase to work correctly, no two belts are exactly the same length, when i used to race i would have my dealer order in a dozen belts then i would measure the o.d. if each with a sewing cloth tape measure, this way the belts i used were all the same length for clutch consitency, you need proper belt deflection! And how high a belt rides in or out if secondary is NOT proper for seting belt deflection, there are good videos out to watch on this subject, dont matter which brand of sled you have the principle applys the same, my way that wrks for me is set the brake grab the belt top and bottom and try and push it around the secondary clockwise with little resitence but some resistence, when correct track will not spin when lifted, but just wanting too, has worked for this guy for several decades now...just my 2 cents worth.

Typically, there's allot more torque on Sidewinder chain case with regards to this; sometimes making shifting harder.
Cats have always had the primary clutch with roller bearings at center thereby greatly reducing torque on secondary and chain case.
I see this issue allot more Winders than TCats.
