Both are great cruising sleds but the XTX is the better all around trail sled that w/ the right setup can perform w/ the best of them, either way get the PS, you'll love it.

I'm a heavy guy and I disagree I find the XTX to be quite comfortable. I've done 1,200 miles trips with it and it rode like a champ! Having said that the Venture is touring specific and should ride like riding a couch!
It boils down to two things motor and two up! Lighter guy can put lighter springs in the XTX but you can't tour double on it. Venture is great but you can't get the bigger motor in it. If they built a Apex powered Venture I would be all over it. If you don't care about the Apex motors performance and something more sedate if fine for you with a plus of packing a passenger then go Venture, but if you want balls out power with very little sacrifice in comfort get the Apex.
I loved mt 172hp 1000cc triple Pantera. Performance and touring in one sled. Something Yamaha seems reluctant to do.

I would like an apex 2 up.I used to have a ski-doo grand touring . It had an 800 triple in it. We had a lot of fun with that sled

I have the Venture GT and a non XTX Apex.
There is no comparison 1 is a hyper performance sled other is an adequately powered smooth two up. My two cents

I went with the star correction kit but made my own and a huge difference in ride quality and installed a few on my friends xtx' If I did it again I would buy a standard 128 that my 2 cents. Good luck deciding.crazynewf said:Im looking at two options for this year and Id like some input from guys with real world experience. Im currently riding an 05 RX1 that Ive owned since new but this year I want to move up. My two choices are the Apex XTX and the new RS Venture GT with 144 in track...Im well aware the XTX will blow the Venture away when it comes to power...But the venture ride quality seems excellent from what I've read from different magazines... my question is, how does the new Apex XTX ride quality compare...It has to be smoother than my 05 RX1 with a 121 incher...Plus the Power Steering must be a great feature. Any advice ?

I have a Attak 136 and love it. The 136 is a great trail sled that is comfortable and FAST. I like the 144 for UP MI ridding but not in the tight turns. If you like you RX the Apex stretched to a 136 or Vector with 128 might be the ticket.
