Back in the 80's and early 90's I used to ride in ski pants instead of bibs since then I went to bibs but would like to go back to the pants (I like the comfort). I notice that Yamaha sells them as others. My concern is are they warm? It appears to me that it might geared towards the snowcross rider and not really suited for the trail rider. In other words not warm enough for long trail rides. I ride in nothern Maine and NH and Quebec. So they need to be warm
Any opinions?

They are good but trail riding will freeze up your waist.

Well, when I ride I am doing the weight transfer thing with my body quite a bit, and on rough trails you can bounce around quite a lot.
So if your coat rides up
, then you are going to have a very cold back.
Just my own little opinion here, but I think bibs are key to staying warm. And with sleddin anything can happen :itchy:

I wore pants for a few years and I found when I rode hade my Jacket rode up on my back and my back got cold. I now ride w/ bibs and I will not go back.

Most of the new style jackets are 3/4 length so pants are fine especially the Reims jackets.

I switched a couple of years ago to pants - they work well for me I feel like I can move around better than with bibs. I picked up a new pair of Klim pants at the Denver snow show - I hope they work as good as they look (look like they are very well built)

I like bibs, because of the coat riding up. If it gets too hot, start un-zipping.

I have pants right now and I like them alot more because of the mobility. However when it starts getting frigid out, they can be a little chilly! Bibs definately give better protection for your back. I would say if your just a trail cruiser and not a hot dog, and your concerned about being cold, I would just stay with the bibs. My .02$

With the Reimas jacket I could almost see pants working because they are cut a little longer and most seem to be a little stiffer, so the jacket should not ride up as much.
Part of the problem can be your height with this choice. I'm 6'2" and pants for me just dont work as well as bibs.
