Mentioned to a friend I would like to move my steering forward and up with a relocator. He went into his tickle trunk and pulled out a ROX 5" riser and said here try it. Before I go tearing it apart I thought I would check it out here and see if anyone had any luck using this method. I know 5" is a stretch, but I figured mounting it forward and up might just work. Anybody using this method??

A relocator improves the way the bars turn. It makes them turn flatter instead of up and down. I did a relocator and a pivot riser and like it alot.

I figured the Rox will act like a pivot risor and if I leaned them forward they"ll also act like a relocator. How was cable length after on your set-up?

Go with the OFT relocator kit. Just about everybody who has done it says its the single best upgrade they have done to there sled, me included. Good instructions and there wasn't an issue with the throttle cable as long as you move it per instructions.

Yes I have looked at it, but with the Canadian dollar sucking, shipping and duty it's bit of a stretch while being on a pension.

Just checked it out. Might sound anal but do you really need to cut a hole in the dash for it? Price is sure Skippy though.

I love my oft relocate, it fells like drag bars on a bike.

If money is a issu, Grizztracks sells one for like $60. I put a Rox pivot riser on last year in hopes of it working but I noticed little or no difference. The relocate changes the angle if the steering shaft and a riser can't duplicate it. I know, I tried it. I just put Grizz's relocate on my sled along with my riser. It feels great and I can't wait to try it!:sled1:

it changes steering geometry to a more desirable angle, you can achieve the same with a pivot riser for the same basic feel while in a straight line or for parking lot posing... but... if you use a pivot riser and move them forward you have a swinging pendulum for steering (ie. having to turn farther for the same given turn) than a set of handlebars that are straight inline with the steering shaft. bottom line it is easier to turn and less fatigue at the end of the day with a relocated steering shaft on the nytros than without

I run a PMT. No mods needed. Best thing I've done. Changes the way the bar pivots. It just can't be beat. This is the way these sleds should have come from factory. Oh well easy fix.

pmt relocator is a mod. if your talking about tweeking the factory threads on the bottom a little bit, that's really a non-issue... thousands of people have done it and Ive never heard of one person say that it did anything wrong. 5k miles on my relocator and haven't had to put one micro gram of grease on my steering shaft or have to sand down the shaft to allow the shaft to rotate properly, how with the pmt relocator?

Opps my bad. Technically a mod. Pmt been great. Didn't have to bend studs, new angle built in lower mount. Just a little grease to machined grove and good to go.
