On my 2003 RX1 with no mods 5400 miles the #2 rod bearing let go taking out the cases/crank.I am currently battling with YAMAHA TO GET SOME HELP ON REPAIRS.HAS anyone else had this problem? :o|

I've heard of very few failures. Any idea what caused it? Did it run out of oil?

Good Luck with the repairs!!

There was no noise before the failurebut when I disassbled it appeared that the nut had back off of the rod.According to YAMAHA the bearing failed first causing the nut to back off.Which is bull.If I can get others with same issue maybe we can wake up the mothership{YAmahaAA]TO OUR PLIGHT. :exc:

First I would like to thanks  BRian of HUDSON YAMAHA IN HUDSON NH
for stepping up in my defense to YAMAHA. but after numerous phone calls
to YAMAHA and a review of the number of new yamaha's bought since 1984 they paid for parts :yam:
