rode a new brp 1200 4 stroke

just dumped one of the yamies(attack) and ordered a 1200 renegade x had to get somthing new as i have been waiting since 07, and power steering was not it . still have apex and vector for backup. see what yamaha does for 2013.

20 miles to the gallon is crazy and i have never seen one get that ~ just saying! You are talking about the 1200 doo right?

1200 gsx mileage

Yes 20 mpg was accurate. First couple hundred miles I kept it steady 40-50 and that's where I got that mileage. Now that it is broken in, when pushed hard she will go down to 14.Average is somewhere between the two, but if you are riding for mileage like some of my friends that go to Canada and spend 1800 for fuel for the trip you can get real decent mileage if you keep below 6500 rpm. My rx used to get the best mileage at 70mph, go figure but I will repeat what I said- do not be afraid to buy this sled. I haven't owned a skidoo for 40 yrs and tried the f8, 800etek, and new apex with power steering and this by far was the best sled. Not even close and I was a yammie motorhead for years. Just couldn't stand the lousy ride, heavy front end and constant plowing thru the corners even with all updates and aftermarket stuff. Good luck

We dont do milage runs but the couple of 1200s I ride with get 14-15 tops. You have a specail one indeed!

Apex, Attak, Nytro, 800 etec...they're all almost identical at the pump when we ride together...and ride the same speed.

The little 500 2 strokes seem to burn the most gas...probably cause they're WFO all day trying to keep up

Thats y my dad got a new sled he was running a 500 and burning though fuel

I believe 20 mpg as the older carb'd Vector could get 20 MPG if you just cruised as steady throttle and didn't ride all that fast. Just like my truck will get way better MPG when driving down the highway at 55, steady throttle, no hills, headwind, no load, etc.

the nytro's the sled you want when you ride like you stole it and dont want it to break..imo

X2 If someone was sold a Nytro on the assumption it would be a great sit down, long-distance cruiser with occasional bumps thrown in out of the box - they ought to find a new salesman. That's the Apex's domain. But for smash-mouth throttle jockeys like me who love to skip over moderate to big bumps at 60 or 70 MPH - I still haven't found a better motor, platform or suspension.

I agree, that it's not for everyone, it does well in the bumps, better after you replace the rear shocks, but the bold, mmm well I have to disagree, 6,000+ miles and I broke and did more damage to that thing than my Apex, and other sleds I ride with, BY FAR.
