So true listen to the new Phazer and compare it to the 4. There is just no comparision. The 4 sends chills up your spine the phaser just sounds dull.
Sound appeal will go to the four.

Sure try to inject common sense into it. lol
Swiss Sledder said:Yeah, I was kind of surprised to see that Polaris pulled the rider select from their 07 models after the magazines hailed it as a great feature. Five pounds probably means a lot to mountain guys but you're right that 99% of trail riders wouldn't notice a difference as this is less than 1 gallon of petrol.
I like the direction AC is going in terms of adjustability because it recognises that there is not a "one size fits all".
FYI, Polaris still has Rider Select on the Switchbacks and Touring/LX sleds. It just isn't on many of the IQ and RMK models for 07.
Cat's version of it doesn't move the steering post and is just a quick release for repositioning the handlebar and riser location/angle.
I also think Cat's direction is interesting (if it works well). Cars have adjustable seats and steering to better fit the driver - why not sleds?

It still doesn't have the look... I live close to a AC dealership and I do take a look at the Jaguar every time I drive by. Whatever its performance and how it ride, I do not like the looks of it. I'm sorry if I offend someone. BTW - I have own cats from 1990-2004. 1987 proto Wildcat 650 and 1993 Wildcat 700 carburated version which I sold back in 2004.

Hey looks means alot. I remember when the 03's came out. The cats where just plain ugly. The Doo's worse! Polaris was well the same as always.
The RX was ugly but strangly refreashing with its pickle fork nose. Bike exaust was strange to say the least. Out of all of them the RX grew on me fast. Soon I loved the lines and thought the exaust suited the motor.
After awhile the Fusion grew on me to a point as well as the Firecats. Doos never got past well OK till the Mach. It looked mean and was acceptable in some way. The rest of the Doo lineup is well ho hum.
The new F series Cat is growing on me just like the Appex Attack. Nothing however being made today just turns me on like the looks of the RX. The Attack is close but I don't like the look of the seat or the exaust. There are some other nit pic things as well.
I'm getting tired of form follows funtion. Jack the seat and bars up in the air and ride the tank like a dog humping a football. Makes for an ugly sled with ugly lines. Doo went full hump and full ugly. Yami and Cat went half a hump and are half ugly.
Just my opinion when it comes to looks from a nit picking point of veiw.

I'll take the ride of my Attak over the looks of my RX

Even if the Cat makes similar power to the RX-1 from '03; I think the 4-hole will out accelerate the 2-hole Cat. Look at the '80s and early '90s for a moment. The Polaris Fuji tripples would stomp any twin with similar HP due to the quicker reving tripple. I had a '91 V-Max 600 LT and could beat my dad's '82 600 Tripple Indy for about 5' due to the traction of the longer track on the LT but eventually it was bye bye once dad's Indy hooked up. I feel it will be the same with the twin lung Cat vs. the smaller bore and stroked four cylinder R-1 motors.

I have the 05 RX as well. Don't get me wrong it's a great sled, but my Attak is an awesome sled.

I was a cat rider for 17 years my 05 f-7 gave me enough grief to change over to yamaha, I ordered a 07 Apex GT [candy red] after riding my friends apex it was a easy decision on my part. I looked at the 07 cats imo I like some of the ideas they have but I have owened first year cats before and have been burned a few times. I also will have a black suit this year, but if my apex is a good machine maybe a yami suit will be in my future.

My cousin's got a "new" 05 900 twin 2 stroke (ZR?) and I passed on a test ride offer. Wish I would have tried it out but it was still old chassis cat.
You should have given it a ride. I have spent time on my buddies ZRs in the 600 and 700 class, and they were light and had plenty of power out of the hole, gobs of power. I didnt like how loud they were, nor the ergos, but that is all personal stuff, that ZR 900 is one fast machine...
