TY 4 Stroke Master
Rode the lake yesterday about 100mi with my buds from NJ with their LXR F8 and LXR F10. These are the heavy luxury F series sleds. Pretty funny over at maximumsled.com these are both heavier than an Apex ER when wet.Yes even the F8LXR is heavier. Riding these sleds and switching back and forth all day made me realize I would never buy another 2 stroke again. The smell ,vibration and lack of finish and workmanship of these sleds really turned me off. I didn't ride these sleds on a trail so I can't give you a good evaluation of how they ride or handle. We couldn't do much drag racing due to poor traction (packed powder on hard ice) so all of our racing was done from 30 or 40mph up. Their sleds were stock with 3 studs per bar in the 128 inch tracks. They both had the 1.25 ripsaws in them also like mine. Mine is studded too and has an Ulmer stage 2 with a little more weight added to the tips, windage plates, airbox mod,cr10ek's and I also run full redline synthetics in the chaincase and motor. Also put on a new belt. Every one of the 20 or so races gave the same results. When we all hit the gas at 30mph or so and we were pretty close together but usually I could jump them when we were in beaten paths because of the better traction and the good backshift my sled has with the clutch kit. At about 110 on my dreammeter the F8 hits a wall and can,t keep up anymore. The 1000 would keep up better till I hit about 120 on my dreameter and then it would start to loose ground at a pretty good rate. On a long run they were both pretty far behind. They are both pissed and plan on getting bullseyes, ypipes and clutch kits.I'll Probably loose to the 1000 next time but I really hurt their egos with my heavy, underpowered ApexGT.
