Hi guys,

I have an '03 Bender stageII, I rolled it on itself in a drainage ditch, and it sat upside down for about 5 min or so. Once I had it back upright, it wouldn't start, had to plug a jump box on it just to get it going, let it idle for around another 10 min or so before I could limp it home. Let it sit overinght, started up with some oil coming out of the case relief filter, so just let it sit and idle, then took for a small ride, it felt very rich, at 3, 8 and 13 psi. Started running much better, so went for a 20 mile ride or so, just trail ride, came back to find oil over clutches, cleaned oil, but blew belt due to slippage. Took back to shop, took off belt and ran sled up to high rpms, noticed oil appears to be coming from behind primary, quite a bit of oil. Just wondering if I blew a seal or what, and how difficult is this to fix. Kinda new to the 4stroke sled idea, any info would be helpful.

Thanks,

Erik

Check your oil level and make sure its full before running it any farther.

I would take the intercooler off and drain it. Wouldnt dought it would have gas laying in it.

Sounds like the oil you are getting on the clutches is coming from the crank case vent. When you have the cooler off, double check it didnt come off. Im guessing you filled the filter with oil and now is saturated with oil and blows oil when running?

Clean the clutches with soap to get the oil off before putting another belt on.

Might want to try keeping the ski's down?? ;)!

If it was upside down for that long, you emptied the crank oil threw the vent tube. Did you clean the oil out after you were back at the shop? Make sure you check your oil level, you will need about 1/2 crt. to 3/4. You most likely had oil in the bottom of the sled and your primary may have thrown it onto clutches, or there was still oil in the vent tube and as you ran home it finished blowing it out onto your clutches! Clean it well mabe take off primary to look behind at the crank seal( but I doubt that is it).should be OK!
As far as it not wanting to start It was flooded. Whenever you roll them the float bowls drain into the cylinders and floods. The slides are run on vaccum so they will not open untill it runs to let air in. Let it set for 5 to 10 min. hold throttle open and crank, it will take a bit to clean out and even start to fire. When it does fire it will be rough keep working the throttle to clear out. If it is flooded bad it may take a couple miles down the road before it runs smooth!
It seems to be worse for oil if you roll onto the left side over the right! Hope this helps
