Has anyone converted their button clutch to a roller clutch? I seen one from MPI and im wondering if this would be better overall than the stock clutch? Would i gain acceleration and top speed or would it not do anything? Any thoughts? My other option is changing my stock helix and maybe spring for something else... maybe a multi angle helix?

no they have no performance gain's but they seem to back shift better and will last longer than the buttons type

That's what I wanted to know. Wouldn't it reach top end quicker since it's rolling and not rubbing on the buttons? Also, would I have to change my primary clutching?

Hey nytroman20 here is a picture of Hauck roller secondary MPI does not push these much anymore. Upshift and backshift is improved and that does impact throttle response so I do believe there are some gains. The theory is less rolling resistance means better performance and efficency. I sent it to Hauck and had them install it and it cost $290.00 included shipping.
I have a Phazer MTX and gains are noticable and do not have the power the Nytros have. I do know you have to increase spring pressure when a roller is used to compensate the quicker shifting. The Phazer MTX is B:1 55 degree stock and the YVX roller secondary with a silver spring which is a bit stiffer than the stock MTX spring and is set at 3-3 60 degrees. With the spring difference it is probably closer to 65 degree. Proper clutching and efficency is key to performing better than others.

Thanks UP bushman! That looks neat. When you say MPI doesn't push them anymore, do you mean they're not worth it? Will it do the same job as the hack setup?

I called MPI and they do not have many helix selections it is hit and miss depending on what your looking for. They do not plan on making them anytime soon according what he told me. When I called them they were really honest about it.

Trust me, I ran them on early Cat setups, they make a huge diff even running stock helix. Funny you guys brought this up I'm tossing the same idea around for my Nytro. I was thinking some clucthing, looks like a typical 4 beer's or so for install!

The one I'm looking at seems to be different from the one posted up above.... If I understood correct it replaces the helix with the roller one and the helix gets moved inside.. On my first topic is a link to the roller helix..

Hey nytroman the one from MPI uses there own unique helix that has to be ordered from them. The one from Hauck uses any standard YVX helix which are way more common to find.

Does one work better than the other? Or are they pretty much the same? They're similar in price so I'm guessing they must be similar in performance. Thanks!

Would I just be better off changing my helix and? If so what angle and or spring would be better over stock?
