My TAPP came with plus 2's, I switched to plus 1's from Thunder in an effort to find RPM's. I also put new bushings in the rollers this year.
I will say I have been fighting to find RPM with this clutch from new. I have had it on 2 different sleds with 3 different tunes. When I first bought it "set up" for my 2017 with a SM tune it was so heavy the knock light would come on hard pulls. I slowly pulled weight until I was left with the lightest bolts, plus 1 rollers and 2 set screws on a PM tune.
I did not use the clutch in my 2022 the first year I had it because I ran stock tune. I knew a stock tune would never pull RPM with that clutch.
I have never had an over rev problem; I would actually welcome it so I could see where the tipping point is.
Maybe I need to switch to standard rollers?
Ramps have always been on "A" When I get back from my trip, maybe I will flip 2 ramps to "B" to see the effect.
The clutch probably has 5-6k miles on it now and I have it completely empty, shortest bolts, plus 1 rollers, black spring on a sm tune running at 240 90% of the time. With a 39- 35 degree helix, B-O spring at 90 deg on stock rollers it is just about right, comes out at @ 8700 and climbs to 9000. Put Hi-Torque rollers in and the RPM's fall 3-400 and I am out of adjustment, except maybe going to an 8JP.
The main reason for buying this clutch in 2018 was durability. I was afraid of the stock clutch on long trips.
I think it is due for a rebuild and I will probably send it in after this year.

This will be my next move.
Mike, you said the stock Ski-Doo roller is best? Do you have a number or an application I can use?
I am seeing part number 417222947 as a common stock roller for the TRA clutch

Yes, stock ski-doo rollers and bushings are better than what come with the TAPP. I know you want standards Rich for less weight but you can also get the pluses from ski-doo as well.

I’ve got 2 23 riots with Tapp and STM secondary, one has green spring in secondary in middle hole with a medium bolt with no washers , on 280 it revs 9150, other one has white spring in middle hole with shortest bolt in Tapp, hits rev limiter, on 280, I’m thinking of adding 4 washers per roller on the one reving 9150, not sure how much to add on the one hitting rev limiter, and is it better to add weight to the roller bolt vs. the set screws?
Add the weight to the roller bolt unless you are slipping out of the hole then you could put a screw in 2 apposing arms for the minimum result and add from there if needed.I’ve got 2 23 riots with Tapp and STM secondary, one has green spring in secondary in middle hole with a medium bolt with no washers , on 280 it revs 9150, other one has white spring in middle hole with shortest bolt in Tapp, hits rev limiter, on 280, I’m thinking of adding 4 washers per roller on the one reving 9150, not sure how much to add on the one hitting rev limiter, and is it better to add weight to the roller bolt vs. the set screws?
4 washers per roller bolt is allot of weight to add. What weight washers do you have?
If you're looking to drop 200 RPM 1 washer per roller bolt should do it if they are the 1.2g washers
For the sled hitting the rev limiter what else is different? Helix maybe? Primary springs the same between the 2? Green to White spring isn't a huge difference.

Yes the washers are 1.2 g. I’ll add 1 washer per bolt and try that, thanks for your info.

Every thing is identical between the two other than the white spring and bolt size in tapp the one hitting rev limiter has shortest bolt , no washers, I’ll make the 2 the same and go from there.Add the weight to the roller bolt unless you are slipping out of the hole then you could put a screw in 2 apposing arms for the minimum result and add from there if needed.
