Does anyone run one of these mounted on their sled?
Looks like it would work good, the 1 and 2 gallon packs are only 3 inches thick so the exhaust should clear it fine...
They also have the storage cases...
They don't have a yamaha specific mount but one should be able to mount the regular mount direct to the tunnel.

Slick as snot!
I saw a similar fuel can for a quad (mounts flat on the front rack .. then you can still stack on top..) and thought that would be a good idea for a sled .... and there it is. Just my luck, always 1/2 a second behind!!
Only thing I'd be worried of is fuel leaking out of the spout if not tight ...... nice though.....

go with the one that has the bigger base on it to spread the weight out over the tunnel evenly and not have all of the weight on on small spot

I removed the link. It is not fair to paying advertisers but feel free to discuss the topic.

I have one mounted on my quad rack and it works really good with no leaks. My only concern would be the mount is about 4" in diameter and that might put some stress on a small area of the tunnel, but you could mount this to a aluminum plate and rivet that to your tunnel.

They make kits designed for other sleds, just not any Yamaha's. This one looks like it would work though.

I am interested in hearing if anyone has tried this with the stock exhaust setup... I have an Ultra-Q silencer... so With the added turn-out I think a setup like RIKMAN has would work fine on my XTX.
I like these types of products! I hope I can make somethin work for me with the exhaust setup I have.
How much fuel do most people carry in the mountains? this will be my first time heading west on a trip and I don't want to be stranded with no spare hydro-carbons! Do you think the 1 gallon rotopax cans would be enfough?

All depends on your riding conditions and style, how deep the pow is and most of all how much time you spend STUCK!!! LOL Because if your not getting stuck your not trying hard enough!!haha

Fair enfough!
I'll do some measurements and just get the 2 gal one if I can. I may just have to make a quick heat shield and use some heat tape.
Please let the next nytro model come from the factory with undertunnel exhaust! LOL!
Well I was thinking about this and I like the rotopax because you can get storage packs as well, and I know there are days when I wish I had a trunk... after 80miles a back pack can get a bit anoying!
