Rotopax fuel caddy...

Nytro Rotopax

Just got mine and will be mounting it this weekend. After talking with the guys at Rotopax the reason they don't have a mounting plate is because the yamaha tunnel does not need it. Unlike the 2 stroke tunnels that usually use the tunnel for cooling purposes. The Nytro is just a radiator tucked neatly into the forward tunnel's upper corner. It was advised that if you go with the larger Roto Fuel Pak that you support it with an alluminum plate underneath the mount and rivet it in place then bolt through it. I will post pictures. By the way I went with the new 3 gallon model and it is only 4.5" tall but I have an MPI exhaust with turnout and it clears perfectly. It will be so nice to have a Nytro that can ride all day with my friends. I am always running out of gas. Stage II SC begs to be throttled. Normally I would say heavy footed, but I guess I have a happy THUMB!!!

i mounted the kolpin fuel pack jr which is only 1.5 gallons with the stock exhaust no turn out and the fuel can started to bubble and melt needless to say i am still with out a fuel can :(

I had one on my sled last year. My tunnel kinked a little bit in where the extension ties into the rest of the tunnel. I now have the skinz bumper and I really dont think that will be an issue any more.

I went with a pair of Kolpin 1.5g packs....... rivited to rear of tunnel.

That set up is fine for the trails but does not work well in the mountains. Ask me how I know.

Well..... I came up with a similar setup for my RX1M back in the day. Worked great on the trails but as soon as I got off trail and was standing up the cans got in the way of my feet, even though they were mounted way back.

No I am sad :o| but only time will tell if it's a problem for me.

Don't be sad. They just got in the way for me during technical riding. Might work perfect for you.

I agree, I had the straps for the over the rear of the seat yammie bag on the side of the tunnel and I would always catch the things when carving from one side to the other. My feet aren't abnormally large either only a 12. I find i stand close to the rear of the running boards when carving but that could just be me. I put my 1.5 kolpin on the tunnel after i changed to my undertunnel exhaust. Time will tell, if you trail ride all day I'm sure you wont care.
