Friday it was 40 deg F. A buddy wanted to go for a spin. The trails were junk here in the cities but we went anyway. Ditches were down to dirt and 1 to 2' gullies every 5 to 10' apart. I am still working on the setup on this thing and thought I better go with the pro R. we rode for about 15 miles and I almost got chucked out over the bars about 3 or 4 times. It was so hot we decided to return to the trucks and shed some clothing.
I pulled out the viper and said lets try this again. I was simply amazed, the XTX looks like a semi parked next to the 136 Polaris and feels as if it weighs 100 lbs more - BUT I took the same trails out and was running 10 to 15 mph faster, never got bounced into the air or crossed up. One area was a steep embankment along the road that I ended up running down into the weeds on the pro r but was able to traverse it on the XTX with no problems. There were driveway aproaches almost every 100' that were all plowed shut across the trails and this thing could hit them at 30 mph and just glide whereas I felt myself almost stopping to align the pro r or it wanted to roll sideways on me.
We ended up doing 70 miles of ditches on the second ride and my buddy was amazed (he is 20 yrs younger) that he could not come close to keeping up on his rage. The turbo did play a bit of a role when 100 feet of straight away presented itself it would walk him like he was standing still.
We did cross a small lake that was about 500 yds wide he was in front doing about 70, pulled up next to him he pushed the button to the bar and I cracked it, pulling the skis off the ground out to about 90 and shut it down at 105, when he caught up to me on my parked sled with helmet off he said HOLY Shi#.
As I get the rear setup closer I like this sled moe and more.
New skis (simmons) tonight and more adjusting out the spring on the front rear skid shock and 10 more psi in the rear float and I think it will be there!

That amazes me that it handles that type of riding better than the Pro R...
Must be those shocks you put on?

Yamadog, how does your xtx handle on the tight trails? Hoes does the rear suspension take the studders? Got my eye
on an xtx but ride trails mainly. Thanks.

It is great on the studders and huge bumps, I let the front rear shock spring out the whole way and went up to 140 on the rear float. I also have the Evol RC2 shocks up front. I am still struggling to get the skis to turn the sled. I am going to pull the limiter straps up and change skis I am running dual 6" carbides but not nough pressure.
