RECIEVED THIS MORNING TECH UPDATE THAT YAMAHA WILL START SENDING OUT THE YSDT PROGRAMMER STARTING TODAY NOVEMBER 19 !!!!! yahoo !!! Let everyone know when it arrives !!!

Thank you very much for trying to keep us in the loop here!

I can't seem to get a definitive answer as to which machines will need the update applied. I don't know if anybody really knows for sure. I've seen where I think you posted something about a Sept production date as a cutoff, but what about those of us with 4/2014 built sleds?

Has Yamaha actually made mention of where the line is supposed to fall be it by derail number or by production date?

I guess I'm going under the assumption that mine will need the update.

what if your sled has no issues and are running a power commander now? to update or not...

I updated mine with a power commander and auto tuner. I notice a difference at idle and it starts way way better. However it is, as always up to the customer to make the choice to do it or not. I don't think you have anything to loose by doing it

did you remove the pc first or leave it on for the update?

If your machine was built before sept 1 this year you should get the update

That's kind of how I understood it, but mine apparently did not ship until Sept/Oct so I am assuming it was not completed until around that time.

Probably would have made too much sense to update before they shipped

I would just call the dealer with your serial number and they will be able to tell you for sure.

I know Cat has an online tracker system that lets guys check it themselves, but did not see that Yamaha had anything like that.

I would rather have a sled that I can ride with a small start issue than have it sit at the factory unitll the update was done :)

Very true. I rode my sled over 2000 miles last year and the hot start issue was just a minor annoyance that I experienced less than a handful of times.

As of today ( November 21 ) Yamaha still has not made it official on which sled will have the reflashing done ! VIN check will come up empty as the bulletin has not yet been official ! We will post as soon as it is ! Be calm and enjoy the holiday !

Is there any way to check the VIN number? Or is the only way to call the dealer? Mine was delivered late August, but I did find a cob-web or too making me think it was stored in inventory for quite a while.
