Hi all.it finally come time where the 2 rubbers on each of the 4 carb jets (04 rx1)have deteriorated and are coming apart , mostly the ones at the top close to the screw head of the jets 2 rubbers have came right off but it doesn't really seem like those top ones serve much of a use rather as just a cushion.
So my question is are these available anywhere? or are some riding without them or are there replacements for each one? also if the bottom rubbers on the jet are going/gone what to do about this as it seems they act as a sealant. just thought id get some input on what to do about this, thanks for looking

Thanx for the reply, I am aware that they should be replaced and are needed otherwise they wouldn't be a part of the engine components, however I have a long time ago ran across a thread of someone posting that on theyre machine a rubber has deteriorated and they took them off ,however both the bottom rubber that seats in the carb tunnel when you screw it back in and the top rubber on the same jet are bad I just wanted input as to what people were doing with this situation because when I called my local dealer wich i dread doing because if they arent rude, they just dont seem to wanna help to badly enough, the guy I talk to said they cant get them anymore so I have never had to deal with rotted jet o ring rubbers that need replacing and that seem to not be available anymore I came here to get others input as what to do,or if they had this same problem, the top rubber if left off doesn't seem like it would affect anything at all, its the bottom rubbers im concerned about that seat inside that little tunnel, if anyone has any suggestions or themselves came across a site they found these rubbers please let me know, thankyou.

I am not 100% sure which ones you are talking about. But it sounds like you are describing the one on the bottom of the main (number 49 on the parts fiche) that go into a little tunnel that is cast into the bowl, it is my understanding that these were there to prevent fuel starvation on the mountain sleds. So when the sled was pointed up a mountain the fuel didn't get to the back of the bowl and leave the main sucking air. Most likely Yamaha just used the same set up on all the sleds for ease of production with one less part number.

That being said I would think you could go to any auto parts store and find a couple of O-rings to replace what you have, I don't think you have to try to get the Yamaha ones.

I was told by my yamaha tech to toss it
