I subscribe to a newsletter that Maximum Sled puts out every month and found this article to be very interesting:

"Yamaha's new Phazer marks a new direction in snowmobile design. One of the comments we hear is that it makes a great sled, but more power would make it even better. One of our sources tells us that there might be a similarly designed machine with about 130 ponies under the "hood". Given the lighter weight of the Phazer, a powerplant like that could give it the best horsepower-to-weight ratio we've seen on modern sleds, and would give the Phazer the boost it needs for seasoned veteran riders. Big brother to the Phazer? Boy, we hope this rumor is true."

It's getting close! :jump:

If they make one ill buy it!

DITTO - And I'll gladly sleep next to it in the garage too.

Remember when triples were all the rage, and they slowly got phased out by twins? Hmmmm...????

I would think about it but I would like to ride one first because that phazer doesn't look like the type of sled that you can slide around the corners, for some it looks tippy to me. Do they actually corner well at speed???

The Phazer just plain RAILS! This is the next generation of sleds from Yamaha and bigger power is coming. Yamaha will make huge market gains with this new sled. ;)!

That would be a sweet ride, especially if they built it in a 136...... wow......

Its not a twin, remember the WSA rule about gear reduction.More like a fuelie vector at 130hp........... :ORC

I'd love to know what that skinny seat feels like after a 200 mile ride before i make the change.
This sled will not be a touring ride.

I still say theres no room in a Phazer for A tripple . I say its A 800 twin based on A moto-gp bike engine....

tripples cost more to make, tripples weigh more, tripples have A larger crankshaft therfore A longer gyroscope to flick around, tripples are much wider than A twin, Do you see any other sno-x sled with A tripple in it? Theres also A reason why alot of the sno-x sleds run skinnier tracks. Its cause its easier to corner A skinny sled.
