I have a 03 RX-1. The sled still runs great! The only problem is- The Headlights, Tail Lights, tach and gauge cluster all stopped working at the same time. My hand and thumb warmers still work. Any ideas as to what it could be? Thanks in advance.

It is the 10 amp fuse. It is the 2nd or 3rd in. I have blown two this year cause i put Xeon bulbs in..... if you are sitting on the sled it is under the hood right above where the reverse lever is...

I have checked every fuse on the sled. They are all good. I am thinking about ordering a new light relay. I will check the wire on exhaust issue.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Just to be sure, you are checking BOTH fuse boxes eh?

Both fuse boxes were checked. All good! Hopefully it is this relay.

Hey, I have had my 05 rx-1 for about 900 miles now and twice I have gone out and started it when it was cold and nothing electrical worked. No lights, dash, etc. The first time it happened I went back inside grabbed my owners manual and went back out and when I got outside everything was working. The second time it happened I just shut off the sled and started it again and it all started working. I was a little worried about this myself...

I blew one last week as well, but it was the 30 amp main due to a loose battery connection. Scary at first til you figure it out!

Shanks,
Your situation is normal.
Power goes to where it is needed first. Then the rest kicks in.
Do not worry about it. You are fine.

Check for rubbed wires!!! There are lots of issues with the RX. Especially in the nose. on the right side of the toolbox. The wire harness rubs on the sharp bracket. I had all kinds of problems and it was there...
You have to look REAL close as mine were very small. Use bright lights and open up the harnes...
I also heard of same problem under engine.. I also had a problem in the handlbar area.....
Good luck

Thanks- I will check the harness. There is nothing else it can be at this point.

I found it! It was the HOT wire going up to the headlight fuse on the right side of the sled. It rubbed up against the clip that holds the harness to the frame. It was cut in half.
Thanks for all the feedback.
Thanks for all the feedback.
Isn't that a sweet feeling when you find it?
Especially when it's electrical!
