We took the big one out west this past week to Albany Wyoming to chase the snow; nothing here in the Midwest. I have a 05' Rx-1 and my buddy has an 05' Warrior, we also traveled there with a guy who had an 600 ski-doo MXZ. My sled is clutched with a few other mods, my buddy has the ECP kit. I have to say that I did not see any other Rx's over the 5 days there. This is powder country and a 136" is the minimum requirement. The first several days we were stuck a few times and at 11,000 plus feet above sea level the effort required to unbury a 600 lb sled in 6 feet of snow is beyond description. We joked that we were winded tying our shoes and that's the truth!! Prior to the trip we rejetted and made the necessary jetting, clutch and secondary spring adjustments (thanks Goodwin performance for the EXACT configurations). After the second day we got the hang of driving in the deep stuff and began to understand the importance of forward inertia. After that it was great, the trails during the week were like glass and although on shorties I have to say my sled performed flawlessly. I have my RX-1 equipped with Ohlins and I could keep up with the MXZ in the turns with no problem. My sled used little gas, no oil, required no wrenching, and performed flawlessly!!! I really love my RX-1 and feel that it served me well even in a place that it's not really suited for.
