Just picked up a 03 RX1. My first 4-stroke sled!!!! I was changeing out the slides last night and noticed a grove on the inside of the track. Looks like the shock mount was rubing on the track and made the groove. I could have sworn I read something about this on this site, but now I cant find it. Any help would be great. I just want to know if there is a way to correct this before I put a new track in and have the same problem.

There was a track rubbing problem with the Apex (monoshock). I do not recall any track rubbing problems with the RXes. You may want to consider taking out th skid and looking for something to be bent or a weld cracked. If you find nothing, the previous owner could have run the track too loose. Did you check the condition of the upper wheels? On an '03, you may want to check all idler bushings. While you are at it, you may want to check the drive shaft PTO side and PTO side jackshaft bearings. Allen Ulmer has a bearing arrangement as a fix for the rubbing on the monos. Maybe,... it would work om the RX. But,... if you have all the wheels working, nothing bent or cracked. and the track adjusted correctly, you should not need it on an RX.

When you pull the skid out check the front rear shock spring retainer. I had two shocks be destroyed and this will cause premature wear of the track. This is a known problem of the pro-action skid. Also if you have the cone style track it may need replacement. On my 03 the track keep stretching. It was just worn out.
