Out on a ride today, sled went into a sudden mis-fire and wont come out of it. 5K miles, all stock. PLugs look ok, light brown. Put the sled inside my trailer and looked for the "light show" that some have talked about on top of the coil packs, and i saw nothing. The plugs seem to be fitting tight in the caps. Recently have had issues with the idle hanging up after stopping, blip it and it comes down after a few seconds. I am not having fuel dump out of the vent tubes, but could i still have a carb issue causing the mis-fire? What to you guys think?

Definitely wouldn't hurt to have the carbs cleaned.

I would say clean the carbs, also check for exhaust leak, especially the exhaust donuts. Mine were toast at 4400 miles and the sled had a mean miss to it. I would also sync the carbs, I just synced mine for the first time since I have owned it and it has never ran better.

All the above but first check tors.
Hanging idle is a good sign that you need to clean the carbs.

Thanks for the help guys, I did by-pass the TORS yesterday, did not help. I am going to pull the carbs today and have a look. I will check the exhaust also.

it was the 03/04 models that had the coil issues.
