my father has had this warrior for a couple years now, and every year the slap in the suspension gets worse and worse. Its now to the point where you cant get out of the driveway without it at least slapping once. it sounds like the something in the front of the skid is slapping and makes a brutal sound. is this the front track shock? is it maybe blown? or is there a quick fix?

big trip next weekend, and would like to get parts ordered or it fixed by then.

thanks guys!

What exactly do you mean by "slap". Is it while going slow, fast or does it matter. When under exceleration, deceleration, over bumps, on flat trail. The more info you can give will help you better to get the help you are looking for.

It slaps period. Doesn't matter the terrain or speed. As soon as you hit any kinda bump it slaps. You can feet it right under the seat/gas tank. The bigger and closer the bump. The worst it is

It's that proaction skid. Not sure if it's hitting the end of the limiter straps or the end weight transfer rods. Whatever it is, it is annoying. Just one of the reasons I got rid of my warrior.

Same problem... Changed the skid and it's better than new... I wouldn't trade for any
Other sled...ever.

Track to loose maybe and when you hit the gas the drivers tighten up the top part of the track and it hits the tunnel????? Dunno, never heard of that happening.

Well changing the skids kinda not in the question.. Is there anything else to make it better? Tracks tight, we though that was the issue at first but it isn't.

First Yamaha messed up with this, and then the hand warmers on the nytro's.. I think it's time they figure there sh*t out before releasing them..

Any other help would be great..

Yes, you have to keep the track fairly tight or it ratchets. Yet another reason I got rid of the Warrior. The "banging" in the rear skid has been discussed on this site a few years ago, as many people were have the same issue. Consensus was it's inherent in the 136" proaction skid , and no definitive solution was available. The only solution would be to change out the skid as Ghost Rider did.

damn that sucks..guess hes gonna have to deal with it.

thanks for all the replys!

Get your shocks rebuilt. Check w arm for cracks. Mine rarely slapped until I lessened the shock setting in the front. As a quick fix check your front skid spring tension if it is too loose it collapses too easy, if it is too hard it makes for a rough ride. Also depending on riding style shocks need to be rebuilt every couple years as the oil thins out.

A pro action can ride decent with proper settings and shock cabling. It will not handle all conditions great though. You can set for one type ie moguls or big bumps but then does the other poorly. Just set it for where you ride most.

x2 on kirkswim's reply. i sold him the war he is driving.

when the shocks are good it rarely clunked for me but i did put olins on it. they finally need rebuild after 5 seasons.
