When my clutch engages and disengages it makes a click. Is it not releasing properly or is this what they do?
Yeah there is a definite noise when the hammers engage. If something is broken at 5000 rpm engagement things usually fly out. Both the clutch weights and the reduction gear system make noises in the RX-1.

Mine makes noise also, and this may be the end result of that noise.
I was just checking mine over real close the other day and found cracks in 2 of the 3 shoe ramps under close inspection. I did not see this until I removed the clutch for a close look.

crap. hope nothings junk. sled seems to runa nd ride just fine.

Just check for the cracks. They came up with a better sheave design in 06.
The noise is not because of the cracks. I think they all make the noise when the secondary closes. There are a lot that have not cracked. Just wanted you to know to keep a eye on an 05 or older sled.

thanks will do. i have the clutch apart now so i can look at it. doing the spring 6 to 1 move.

same thing happened to my fathers rx1 mnt, you need to change 3 spider bushings that are on the left side of the towers when looking at the clutch. its supposed to be a very common problem, there is a kit that was for the 3 cylinders that i used and it works perfect.
