The work list of this rebuild was long but most of it was needed to keep the sled in top working order. When you start taking things apart, you quickly realise how much wear happens in so little time on these sleds. You hit a bump here and a hard curve there and a bit of shush and it take it's toll on the machine. This is a 2003 RX1 that was pretty much stock with most original parts before the rebuild.

TO DO's that were on the list
Upgrade RX1 skid to M10 " Cheep off of Kijiji " .. Check
New Camoplast RipSaw track .. Check
Replaced front RAD that had a stud stuck in it .. Check $$$ ( What a load of work this is for nothing )
Replaced head gasket and 4 pistons/rings with new .. Check $$$ (easier then I thought to do thought)
Replaced old broken or loose rivets .. Check ( Aircraft grade rivets and was the longest part to do. )
Replaced old snow flap and retaining plate that was all rusty and bent .. Check ( I hate rust )
Weld all cracks in the aluminum frame and tunnel .. Check
Replaced all bearings ( Secondary and Jack shaft ) .. Check $$$
Replaced all bushings in the front ski arms that were worn out .. Check ( It's now nice and tight )

Fun Stuff now. Added Temp/pressure gauge for the coolant to prevent damage from running low on coolant an other time .. Check

LED underglow properly tubbed to prevent damage to the LED strip .. Check and Looks great.

I like the picture of her belly up... :) Nice job on the rest!!

Thanks, It was easier to work on it that way when I changed all the rivets and changed the location of the back skid brackets. My wife complained the it looked like a pile of scrap metal. It's looking good now thought and I'm almost done.

My list is quite long too. But the ghost is better than new and quicker, like I needed to go faster lol

That sled looks great. Making mine look good will be on next summer's budget. The LED were all I could afford with all the other repairs I had to do one mine. It should run like new for the winter. I love the red snow flap and bumper. I'd be afraid to damage the paint on it thow.

Thanks Eric, I do my own painting so I'll repaint when needed, it does take time and a boat load of cash, but fun to do.
If ya come to Michigan to ride yell at me, your welcome here, Larry

Nice job on your sled

Larry,

I think you need some gytr piggyback clicker shocks up front yet. I've got a set that would look good on your sled!
Travis, ha wish I could afford & justify it, remember Iam a poor old guy.

Larry you have been busy gut this summer ---just love that sled

Hey Tom, just little stuff on mine.
But brother in law bought 03 same as mine, not really cared for so been going thru his last couple months, since he thinks he will out run me now, I put in mine 22 tooth top gear just to make sure he stays in place, ha
