Saying goodbye

This is why I still have my RX1. When I am going on a long trip on fast wide open trails, I will ride the RX1. When I am exploring the back country or riding small narrow club trails, I will be on the Phazer.

Can one sled do it all???? Perhaps a REV 600 SDI, but you still will not have the awsome 4 stroke motor or Yamaha reliability.

The Nitro (regeared) comes very close, but I doubt that it will be as good as the RX or PZ in each of their best areas.

Now a 120 HP tripple in the PZ chassis, Might be the best "do it all" sled ever!!

I couldnt have said it better.

Think that someone have been buying before using theyr head here. What did you expect from a 80 hp sled....? And when you say that you wont be satisfayed with nothing less than the power of a apex turbo what were you thinking of when buying this underpowered sled...? :bling

And about engine relyability I spoke with marklund at mc-x today and he had no concerne what so ever about putting a turbo on this phazer engine. All yamaha engine up to day had proved very relyable with turbo and he could not see why this shouldnt be the case with this engine also. He also said that the rods and bearings on the phazer was just as strong on rx-1/apex and that some have taken out 470 hp on the apex without having problems with rods (sled used on drag racing)

You could probebly take out more than 140hp on a turbo phazer but then you will have to change the stock piston to low comp one.

By the way hyflyr, where did you ordered the turbo you was expecting at any time? I guess not from mc-x or? They are sold out for a long time ago and did not expect to offer any before jan/feb

Who would want to consider buying a Phazer without thinking of getting a turbo ???
Except for using as a 2.nd sled and/or for bitch or kids of course ;)!

This might change your mind. A guy at www.snowrider.se has mounted his MCX turbo kit. Looks really good!!!

Sniper, easy big fella. I was using my head when i bought the sled. I didnt want a 80hp sled and intended from day one to put a turbo on it. Also, i hadnt rode a turbo apex until just recently and now that i have i would like to have one, and if you had you would want one too.

I did have the mcx kit ordered and, i gotta go do some work but i will contiune later.

I have heard great things about the kit and i too like it and looks awesome. However, when i was looking into the kit the first thing i asked was if it would be able to go past 140hpp and they said yes it will be fully adjustable. Now, i am being told they wont, the fuel mapping wont be right and others have had engines go when they have tried to go past that mark . All in all not a good situation seeing how i was told something that wasnt true in the first place. Oh well, i just want a sled with more go than 140, i was hoping for 165 and that would be perfect for me but i dont think it will possible this year without a few bugs to get out. So, like i said viper, i would like to own one of these again and would do it in a heartbeat and probably will next year. I was hoping that there would be more performance options for it sooner but i guess i jumped the gun.

Thats the problem with bying a first year sled! I still have my 03 rx-1. First year sucked to ride in the hills. Secound year lightend it up did exahust ran good in most conditions. This was when turbos started running. I waited a year and used this sight, then I turboed it! AWSSOME!
The Phazer will be a great sled and will get better as bugs are worked out. But I do not care who you are, there is no way to go from a boosted Apex or RX to a stock or boosted Phazer as an only sled. However if you have a boosted Phazer and want to prove me wrong please meet me in WA. ST. and let me ride it so YOU can prove me WRONG!

I was thinking turbo'ing one next year for the wife, not me and keeping the apex if thats what you meant.
