Have a 06 apex with MPI stage 2b SC on it. installed early last season ran it once or twice (never ran correct as it was leaning out and needing more fuel, plan on bigger in tank pump) it sat for a while as i was busy with other things went to start it and it wouldn't, drove me nuts as to why. After messing with it on and off for a month did leak down and found it Stuck rings on all four cyl.
took the engine out and took it apart to confirm this and rings stuck so bad that nothing i did would free them up.
so here is my dilemma. as i took this apart last year and being that i am a 2 stroke guy (but very mech inclined) I did not mark the connecting rod, the connecting rod caps (so not sure which goes to which rod), and did not mark the big end bearings (i had them placed where it was 1,2,3,4 but they got moved).
all my rods are marked 5PW and stamped on side 5D. does it matter it the rod caps are mixed from one to another or are they matted and matched pairs
according to the book and what is stamped on my crank i need two blue and 2 black big end bearings (looked mine over and there is no color on them, a number is stamped on back side F-112 and what appears to be a symbol but they are all the same) is there a way to measure this to get them on correct lobe of crank? if so will it matter if the are switched? meaning if i know what two are blue ones i have a 50-50 chance of getting them back onto the original crank lobe..
hopefully do not have to buy new rods and new bearings as time and money where the reason it sat for a year or so, really want to get it out this season as i have never even had a chance so far to enjoy it
anything else i should be aware of when putting this back together, or any other improvement i need to do to make it reliable (head studs (who's and what type) etc..
any help would be greatly appreciated
Joe
