I got a question for some guys out there for rebuilding these engines. How do you determine which bearings for your crank and connecting rods. How do you figure that out from using your casting numbers from your crank and crank case ? I have the manual but u don't get how they use the example to tell you which bearing u need. Does anyone know a better way to find out what bearings u need? Here are pictures from the manual what Yamaha does to figure out bearing sizes.

The manual shows you how to figure out what color bearing to buy (see example attached) On the connecting rod 1 there will be a stamped number and on the crank the last three numbers equate to the different rods i.e P1,P2,P3. In your manual the example subtracts con rod 1 number from crankshaft 3rd number (P1) -1 and that gives you a 3 which equates to the color brown. You have to dissemble engine to see numbers and determine color required using formula in manual. Good luck
