I take it not a lot snowmobile over there?
Well, in a country of little over 5 million people there are about 100k snowmobiles, 3500-5000 units sold annually. Double those numbers and you are pretty much on Sweden's ballpark.
While not making this thread political, it is a bit tough to compare the prices and household incomes (which is different from family income) since the societies are built a bit different, for example free healthcare and education from primary school up to university level over here.
Yes, the Scandinavian (Nordic would actually be more accurate) models are the same base models coming from Yamaha's Iwata factory what you get in North America, just accessorized by Yamaha Motor Scandinavia (which sells in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Baltic countries, Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Islands) and Yamaha Finland.
Yamaha Finland has a long history of "domesticated" Yamaha models. Back in 08 when the Nytro came out, they ordered a bunch of RTX models. However at that time happened a big switch from shorty sleds to crossovers and mountain sleds so they couldn't sell everything in that first year. For season 09 Yamaha Finland made a Nytro RTX Crossover Special from the leftover RTX's by installing Tracks USA rail extensions, 144" track and Slydog Powderhound skis.
I think the first "Finnish edition" Yamaha was the Phazer II Giant Special in the early 90's. The sled had a Totaltek exhaust and better shocks (Öhlins?).

In those pics posted, are they Yamaha pics and are those options offered by Yamaha?
If so, and although you likely can't answer it, I am curious why Yamaha doesn't offer some pkgs similar/same over here? (N-A)
These options are offered not by Yamaha Factory but by Yamaha Scandinavia and Yamaha Finland which are private importers not owned by Yamaha Motor Co.
It also works the other way round, we don't have any other Vipers available than the XTX and at least in Finland there was a several years gap when the Vector was not offered at all. Unlike in Canada, the BR250 hasn't been offered in ages but then again VK540 IV is on offer even today.

HAHAHA!! My thoughts exactly. This title is just as misleading as my "let's see your rack" thread title.
It's cool to see how other countries deal with the sledding market. Thanks for the info.
