Is there any consensus on what scratchers are the "best" for the skid on this chassis? I typically don't need them but would have loved to have them on a trip last March, so I'm trying to figure out what route to go.
Looking at Barn of Parts ski mounted options, the cheap non-reversable ones from Cat/Yamaha, or possibly the wire ones from ski doo, but I'm not sure if those would require a lot of drilling to mount.

I have the ski mounted brackets from Barn of Parts with cable scratchers on my 2015 Viper w/ MPI trail turbo. Easy to install and very effective (in my opinion, they are more effective than chassis/suspension rail mounted scratchers of any type). I will say that I did lose the big stainless steel "R Spring Clip" on both sides that is suppose to be used for keeping them up when you don't want them down; however, I don't really care as I want them down all the time -- if it was an issue, then I would look for a better solution than the included spring clips...

I run Skidoo rail mounted scratchers on my 141 Arctic Cat float skid.
I tried the rail mounted cable flex scratchers and lost one of the ends in under 100 miles of riding...

Those would work too!! Anything up front is better than the rear.

I have struggled with the scratcher location for a long time. I prefer not to have anything hanging off the my front end. I know everyone says not to worry but I just could not get over ski or front suspension mounted products. The RT-X chaise really does not lend itself to any type of scratcher currently available that will not impact some part of the suspension when riding. I had to use Ski doo scratchers with a custom mount. They don't hit anything and work fantastic. It was a lot of work but seemed to be the only option I was comfortable with.

There's no denying that coat hanger scratchers provide the best coverage & down force.
Only minor draw back is they are not reversible.
Not a deal breaker, in my opinion, because you can ride Glare ice all day long if need be.
No worriers about hyfax wear or cooling. This system just plain works.
If you're willing to invest a little time, this mod is the most durable & effective that I've found to date.
Mod Only Works for 137"+ skids.
Here's what you need...

The cooling effectiveness is instantaneous. You'll see temperature dropping in the first 25 - 50 yards.
Hyfax lubrication is second to none.
No more worries about glare ice.
Just remember the reverse alarm is no the Scratcher alarm. Enjoy!

I can see the indents on your rail where the old screatchers had been digging in. Nice set-up.

By far those scratchers are the best for snow spray. I laugh at friends with the cable ones. Sometimes they bounce around and flip themselves back up on the rail. I gather you cut that mounting block to fasten on the inside? Nice kit.
Straightline performance makes a unique kit for mounting on the lower a arm. It can be attached/removed quite easily. But very pricey.
Since my Nyrro was a 121 I didn't have the rail space, I mounted the 'underside of running board' scratchers. Worked great, but again - no reverse.
On my SW, when my scratchers are down I have a plastic tie that I wrap around the handlebars covering the reverse button so I cant easily hit the button.

The scratchers I installed are reversible. I used an AC rail stiffener, cut in half. Mounted both halves to one side and then mounted the Scratchers to the new locations. The cables really don't get the job done. I have gone thru all of the different types and styles. So far this is my best solution.
