Looking at my red attak one of the things im worried about is the gas tank. All that red around the gas cap and where my suit may rub where the tank meets the seat has me wondering how I can protect it from scratches. Any suggestions?

BL get some of that 3M clear vinyl that the automotive guys use to protect the leading edge of a hood on a car, very durable and can be cut to fit.

Buy a crotch rocket tank protector. That's what I have on my R1. Theres a ton of styles and patterns out there. It's just a big sticker that goes on the tank.

The 3M vinyl is the way to go that way you can use it on the tunnel as well to protect that.Or anything else you can think of ie;side covers for exhaust if you have bags, windsheild for that god awful trail pass sticker (no more scratched windsheild from trying to remove it cut a piece larger than the sticker and lay it on top),front a-arms from getting scratched.Endless applications.

Try your local Autopro/Napa parts center or related stores like that,if not for sure those shops that do graphics/vinyl for your car, bus, truck, boat, bike, snowmobile, etc.Just in case the guy's at the parts store don't know what your're talking about tell them it's to prevent stone chips! They should know.

:ORC Make darn sure the tank bag has a soft, non-abrasive backing, or your tank finish will be ruined. Been-there, Done-that

That is exactly what they advertise. The bag is suppose to have some sort of soft backing. I will be picking up my sled and tank bag this Saturday. I have done that also. Not pretty. I will investigate. Look for my pics probably Sunday night. CAN'T WAIT. I'm on the home stretch now. 3 days and counting...lol
