Seafoam

Indy said he had shellac in the carbs.

I dont know about you guys but in last few years since Ethanol in gas I have not seen that. What I commonly see is very clean shiney carbs with either white corrosion or a whitegel in bowls. No more varnish at all.Best storage is to either run the sled at least once a month or drain all gas including from float bowls.

i actually see varnish about 90% of the time

I had both, shellac in the 2 smoke and white corrosion in the RX1. Vmax uses premium, 87 for the RX1.

I do not know if it is "Crappy" gas, but it works fine in all vehicles, toys, and equipment. So I should store them with ehtanol free fuel?

If you plan on leaving the gas in there then by all means buy Ethanol free gas if you can?

I treat mine with Sea-Foam and I run the sled ever 4 weeks or so with the occassional spin of the track for at least ten minutes everytime.

So far so good and no troubles but if you cannot do what I mentioned above then I would drain the carbs and tank as was already mentioned.

non oxygenated or ethanol free gas is ok until you go back to ethanol, ethanol is an alcohol which acts like a cleaner and after using ethanol free for a while then going back to ethanol it will flush any debris that may have accumulated into your carbs

Are you saying that like it's a bad thing?

The reason to stay away from Ethanol gas, especially during storage is to help with phase seperation.

From my understanding it will phase seperate in a couple months or even less and nothing on the market will stop it from doing that.

Stabil, startron, Sea-Foam etc are great products for stabilizing non-ethanol gas but do nothing to prevent phase seperation, even if they claim to.

its not a bad thing if you run non ethanol all the time but the first take with it has the potential to clean the entire fuel system and that would make its way to the carbs... i would just use stabil in the tank and drain or run the carbs dry

i work in an autoparts store and we cant keep it in stock. it sells and everyone says it works really good.
