lol yeah, most of those were 3 to 6 hour rides - I can only imagine what I could put on in a 12 hour day from point A to B.

Sleding weekend number 17 was part of my weekend 16 video’s and pictures as that trip spanned 2 weekends, so here is;
Sleding Weekend Number Eighteen!
Freshly back from the trip to Saskatchewan with Mama and Papa, the Nytro was down waiting on a water pump ceramic seal that is backordered. The Phazer, however was good and ready to go after spending much of the season on downtime.
Greg, myself and Nate headed for the wall tent on the Friday night. Greg was to stay back and fish while Nate and I were in for a full day of exploring/riding from the tent. We had to pack as much fuel as we could without towing a boggan, as this would be our only limiting factor.
We ended up in a familiar area that I’ve been to once or twice called Thompson Mine.
A gold mine that is nothing but scraps now, like many of the mine sites in the north.
Nate and I hit a dead end in that area and headed a new direction through Hearne Lake all the way to the end of Desperation Lake. On the way, one lake was 23 km’s long with narrow shorelines. It was a bit of a cool ride with temperatures as they were.
When we hit the turn around point to head back based on fuel consumption, we did some powder riding and climbing our ‘YK Hills’, when my attempt went horribly wrong.
One the ride back, we explored a few shorelines and I ended up pretty stuck.
I wasn’t the only one though, Nate was having his turn.
The winds were nasty and strong.
Back at camp, Greg was doing his thing.
The riding was great and capped off our 18th weekend of adventures.
A comment on Yamaha’s electronic reverse for my Phazer. It refuses to engage without being rocked back and forth. It’s been like this since the beginning but is worse now than ever. The design is flawed. At least with a manual reverse lever (if you give us a handle that won’t bust off in our hand) you can feel if the gears are lined up. With electric, you don’t have a choice after you hit the button – and trust me that when you are stuck to the point of not being able to budge the sled by rocking it, reverse will not engage at all – which is a mute point I guess since reverse won’t get you out of the jam if you are that stuck – BUT – still, the reverse system is not reliable and mine is getting worse with age. I can't even back it off my trailer without rocking it back and fourth. That's not acceptable. Just some feedback, But the video brings you the rest of the trip in detail...

Thanks for a great thread.
Yesterday and today I watched all the video's and read the thread.
I love it that you love to laugh, even or especially when things go WRONG.
My wife was half paying attention and is very worried about you and your safety out in the BUSH at way below zero F. She wants me to tell you to be careful LOL.
I can't believe it, but she is serious, she seems to think somehow her concerns conveyed through my authority (as though you were one of our kids)will make a difference - LOL. I told her I thought you were appropriately cautious, not go over well, how could I be so foolish. If you are married or have a strong willed mother this will give you a warm fuzzy laugh, why, well she actually does want you to be careful, and me to tell you.
Any way loved your effort to show us all the fun you had this year with our shared passion of snowmobiling.
WOW your bush and Reve riding look very exciting and challenging. In Mn I am a groomed trail over 95% of time.
Anyway thanks for the thread, enjoy my wifes concern for you safety.

Although less concerned for your safety... (LOL)... because it makes for a better and more exciting presentation,...I certainly agree with Yamadoo...
Superb effort Yellowknife!
You have made your thread very interesting, and informative. Those that haven't experienced those extremes, you have provided much food for thought.
Kidding about your safety...
Be safe and most of all, thanks for sharing your passion!![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

hahaha, that's too funny. Thanks guys - tell the wife i'll keep her advice in mind if i'm out there and considering taking a risk I shouldn't be.
Let's not apply that to the next couple of updates that are coming - they're gonna be good. lol

Sleding Weekend Number 19 and 20 (Part One)!
Friday night (back on March 13th) Greg and I headed out to the tent yet again. We had some decent northern lights…
Back in the tent, the abominalbamal snowman had idea’s of scaring Greg…
On Saturday, I wanted to do some exploring, but Greg would stay back and fish as usual, which meant traveling alone, which you all know I like to do, and many of you give me heck for it.
I ended up riding to the north end of Bliss Lake, following a trappers trail that some of the scouts use or something, past some RWED/ENR cabins. I’ve been on this trail before and it lead me pretty far north, so that was my goal again.
I was riding along, following existing tracks when the ice collapsed instantly with a 20 foot radius in front and back of me…
I had no time to react, it wasn’t like I felt the back end sinking on my sled and could have got on the throttle – the collapse was instant including well in front of me…
And behind me…
I sure didn’t see it coming – but rather than go on and on about details, you should watch the video instead. It has it all, moment by moment after the collapse. To be released in several parts starting with part 1;

All I can say is WOW... I'm waiting for part two !!! I just got back from a weekend at Huskey lakes !!! While I was there I had to deal with error code 43 !! If I moved the wiring harness between the oil resvoir and the rad it would turnover and start. I think it is a ground issue. I guess I have to fire up the shed and put my baby in the hospital for a few days until I find the problem !!! Can't wait for the second part !!!

Great Thread!!!
At the moment it looks like I am tied with you in the TY mileage log contest, I must say that I hope you win, which I am sure you will. It seems you truly do have adventures every time you head out on the sled. I really appreciate you taking all the time to edit the videos and do the write ups for everybody to enjoy, I know I really enjoy them. Keep up the great work!
Can't wait to see part 2 of the video.

Error code 43 eh? check out the grounding block.
Thanks tkuss - it's been a fun hobby this year doing all these video's and stuff. Hard to keep up on them and still ride as much as I'd like, but then again, it helps keep me rested and to take a break once in a while.
