I have an 08 and find the foam soft did they change the foam in latter years does anyone know would like to find a seat a little stiffer

07-09 rtx models had firmer foam then other apex models. I believe the 2010 models have a better upgraded foam altogether.

Mountain Apex seats are firmer foam as well.

Check around in the yellow pages. I found a local upholsterer that does motorcycle seats. He replaced a section of foam in my seat with firmer foam. The seat still looks completely stock. Cost was about $150 but part of that was changing the silver accent to black so I figure under $100 to do just the foam.

The RTX and mountain seats are a outstanding upgrade! Its makes the ride soooo much more enjoyable because you dont sink in so much and have to work to stand up, but they are not to firm where they ride like a brick.

One way to tell is if the accent stripe is in the 'middle' of the side of the seat or on the bottom of the seat. The one on the bottom of the seat has the firmer foam.

I thought in 06 they all had the same foam and in 07 and up the RTX had firmer foam. Just curious as I have an 06 RTX and was going to upgrade to the 07 RX all black seat.

06 Moutian seat

I have a 07 apex er with the softer seat. I found a 06 moutian seat. It has the colored stripe in the center. Does this mean this is the same softer seat? Or is all moutian seats taller and firmer????

Can anyone confirm for sure the 06 RTX in fact did not have the firm seat foam? I'm looking at a used 06RTX seat for this very reason, and want to make sure if it does or does not have the firm seat foam. Thanks guys!

06 RTX does not have the stiffer foam. 07 does.
