So I adjusted my secondary to C2 because I wasn't getting full revs I was always sitting at 10,700 at the top ,but now it seems like I'm at 11,700 and rev limiter in the powder so does anyone know how to make a smaller adjustment. I didn't put it on A2 beacause it looked like too big of an adjustment. Is there a list on the degree of adjustment per setting of the number and letter that you install the spring on.

this help at all???

The A2 setting on mine (with Ulmer Clutch Kit) gives me about 11,400 on acceleration and around 11,000 wound out. I would like mine to wind out in that 11,500 area.....must keep tuning!

I've consulted Turk......he says I need to lighten the tips of the weight a couple grams. Planning to grind them a bit (no rivets) and test in the next couple weeks.

I think the weights are to heavy as well. You could try loading up your stock weights a few more grams and i bet you would be alot happier with the shift, than what you have right now.

Yes i have Scmidta kit in my machine and 11300-11600 with b1 setting on secondary. And it back shifts good.

I also have a schmidt bros. kit but the holes in the weights and the dia. of the new rivits are a bit decieving !!! The dia. of the hole in the weight is as big as the wide part of the new rivit ???? like I know the instruction say to grind and punch out the olf rivit and replace with new one by using a flat spot on a vise and a big hammer !!! Maybe OTTER and 08phazerRTX, you guys can explaine how you installed the new rivits ... Thank guys !!!

Ulmer clutch kit on the primary. Secondary is at B-1. Running one shim between the sheeves on the secondary. From a dead hole shot it will run about 11,500-12,000rpm. It levels out once your going around 11,300. I have been experimenting on how I could get les belt squeal when it backshifts when slowing down. I hate that when I chop the throttle and decide to get back on it, and hearing that pesky squeal. No matter what I have tried it still wants to do that. I dont think the two clutches work efficiently with each other. I am about ready to throw away that secondary. Its the same secondary that Yamaha has been using for coons ages. Any info on this let me know. Thanks

I just drilled and then punched out the old rivets and put the new ones in. They didnt seem to small on the diameter they were just really long. just put it on the vice and hammered it flat. Fit good and a real improvement. launches around 4100 and pulls right throught till it hits 11,200 or 11,400. All i have to say is WOW! great bang for the buck and lets this little seld come alive.

Thanks Peter !

Alright !!!! The phazer is going into the shop tonight and I am going to to attempt to install the Air pods and the clutch kit at the same time !!! Thanks 08phazerRTX !!!

I am assuming the book says the power band is 11,500 - then the following would be my idea. If not - the below is wrong.

Yes - you are right - the engine is lugging at top end - and shifts up too fast. Grinding the weights is good - but you cannot go back.

Try a little tighter on the secondary(as a first test) - this is a free change . This will move shift curve closer to the engine power curve..

I cannot be 100% as its almost impossible to tune using only words - I would need to hear and see it...
