Flipper's got it right, t-warmer down and key on, keep holding the t-warmer down for 8 secs. Just make sure you turn the key off when you're done, this thing doesn't shut down by itself and you know what's gonna happen to the battery with that headlight staying on....
Far as what use it could be, nice to be able check mileage or fuel level without having to fire the engine. And maybe use the headlight in the woods at night?
