I'm curious about your DX 146, looks like one I would like, just wary of the track length. How is it for cornering, any issues in the tight turns?I put around 4000 miles a year. I don't want to be buying a sled every year or maybe not even get a year. we had a real bad year for snow and I put 3500 miles. I love my stx dx 146. Can get 200 miles on sled with out needing gas a, it as the extra tank piped in. Great sled for 2 up and can change to solo sled in a few sec.

I fine it excellent all around. I'm running tuners skis with 6 " carbide on inside. No trouble in the corners.

I think the two stroke reliability issues get exaggerated here just like the weight issue gets exaggerated about 4s on 2s forums. Our group consists of around 10 guys who all ride various 600 or 800 2s and I can't think of a single time we have had an issue other than running out of fuel a couple times. Granted we aren't racking up big miles each year 1000 miles is a good year but we ride them hard every one of those miles. When I switched to a viper reliability wasn't as much of a concern for me as I wanted more torque and to be able to do more aftermarket mods to the motor. The reliability is just an added bonus

A second question if you don't mind as I am not sure if I am interpreting your message correctly. I had tried the tuner skis on my 2012 Vector, using 6" carbides on the inside and 4" on the outside and got the push in the corners. Are you saying that you only put the carbide on the inside and nothing on the outside? No darting issues either? I am looking at the same sled as you have right now.
TIA,
Allan

I put 6" on inside and 2" on out side and I didn't fine it pushing at all on hard pack, like it was on rails. 0 darting. This year coming I have 6" on inside and round on out side. see how that goes.A second question if you don't mind as I am not sure if I am interpreting your message correctly. Well see how long your last , every Polaris and skidoo around here blows there engine , plug eaters, belt eaters, and most can't last period. Don't get mad if you need a tow once your rush blows or acts up. A lot of us Yamaha riders don't care about MPG we care about the reliability and dependability , Forgot to mention worst rear end setup on that rush rear skid ever."My 800 Rush gets 2 MPGs better than my Viper. Hey if it's on the internet it must be trueTRUE so true
Let's be honest people. When I'm on a 4 stroke I can put the hammer down across a lake with absolutely full confidence. I'm not thinking, damn I better pull back before this thing blows up. If you can say that about your 2 stroke engine than that's good for you.
Peace of mind. That's why I'm on a Yamaha.

If I had a dollar for every time I thought "Boy, the sled's running spot on! Better check my plugs"
I know EXACTLY how you feel. Ride it all winter. Do all your maintenance in a day when its 75 degrees and the beer is the only thing freezing.

What 2 up seat you go with? The factory or aftermarket? I like the sounds of off and on in seconds! Any pics?

I purchased the factory Yamaha 2up seat. It is the same as the Arctic Cat Pantera 7000 seat only without the Arctic Cat embroidering. It has heated seat and hand warmers. The plug in is with a standard cigarette lighter set up and the female end is already mounted on the 146 DX. The seat uses two paddle clips to lock it down and two forward facing ears that go under the stock loops on the 146 dx. I will try to add some pictures.
Have the same seat.

Anyone know if the seat works on the 137 in track? The LTX's or do you have to go 141 or longer?Have the same seat.
