A very nice write up about the Apex in the Sept. issue of Snow Tech magazine says that there will be a very happy bunch of Apex owners! They just rant and rave over the new EFI 4 stroke. They say there is not much dectectable difference between the Apex and the 170 hp+ Mach Z until your into the C notes!
When riding on wide smooth groomed trails they have not experienced an equal to the APEX!
They didn't totally paint gloss over the whole write up but they said plenty of very positive things about the Apex.
Well it definitly made me more anxious to get my GT!

I have'nt gotten my issue yet b/c I just subscribed a couple weeks ago they say 6-8 weeks for first issue. What were some of the bad things they said about it. I have a gt on order also and just want to be prepared for some of the negative before I find out for myself, hopefully there isn't much.

Not a whole lot of negative Pitt4212. They did mention you would feel the front end weight in deeper snow. They also said , something to the effect they would be hard pressed to find a better sled for groomed trails, and the corner to corner acceleration is impressive

Heavy steering becomes evident as the day wears on. But they put on 300 miles that day. So, I'm not so sure most sleds would have felt heavy at that point. They are calling the suspension a great bump suspension but not a great jump suspension.
They say that at some point as the bumbs get bigger the vehical mass becomes a detriment. Those were the only negitive things I could find and they seem to be over shadowed by so many positive comments that I'm wondering just how significant they are!

Of course it is not a great "jump suspension". It was designed for a great "bump suspension". The great "jump suspension" is in the nytro. That's why they designed 2. What do these guys who write these things expect? It's O.K. to make the assessment, but then they should point out that it works exactly as designed and if you want to jump all the time get the Nytro.

Sounds I purchased the right sled this year, I have a GT coming as well. I'm not big on the jumping, (plus I'm rehabbing surgery for a torn achilles tendon),I like cruising groomed . If my 03 rx-1 handled everything I asked it do I'm sure the GT will too. My friend ordered a NYTRO so I'll see the difference.
I'll have to look for the magazine at the news stand and read the article.
