I am heading out to the Big Horns in a couple of weeks. I have changed the main jets, weights and spring based on altitude adjustments from Yamaha. I figured I was ready to go, but one of my buddies that is going with said that I am going to want to take off my sway bar so I can play in the powder.

The question I have since this will be my first time out west is how much does taking the sway bar out change for deep powder riding? Is it really that big of a difference? I would think that I would be able to ride it as is and still have plenty of fun and wouldn't have to change more stuff.

The kicker is I have to change everything back to flatlander settings during the week after we get back so that I am ready to go to Munising in March for the TY Ride. So the less I have to mess with the better.

I pulled the sway bar link on my RS venture for some off trail riding this last weekend - I'd go ahead and pull one of the links as it is very easy.

I'd rate the ride slightly better for powder (18-24") without the link.

So you are saying that you just removed one of the links and left the other link and the bar itself inplace. This did not hurt anything? Can you remove both links and leave the bar in place or is that all that is holding it so at that point you could just slide the bar out anyway? If that is all it is maybe I will try it the first day with the bar and take it out for the second day.

Has anyone else tried this?
