7.5" shapers coming for my inside, but one of the OE junk bars already dropped an insert in 7 miles of playing on a field.
Now to decide if I want a plain shaper, a 4" shaper, or something completely different outside.

I went to the local yamaha dealer today to buy some carbides and the only carbides they have there for the tuner skis are yamaha brand carbides. He had the 4 and the 6" in stock, are these going to be the same junky quality as the stock carbides that come on the sled? I would like to try the 6 and 4 combo, I don't think the stock set up is that great. Does anyone have part numbers for the sharper bars for the 2015 tuner skis?

Tuners improved the handling big time on my viper. Got 6" shapers inside and out

no different. even if there was more effort I would still have them. Way more predictable then the stock skis. I tried multiple runners on the stock skis but just get that hint of push then catch creating inside ski lift. Doesn't handle as good as my previous doos but hoping with the new axys it'll b close

Also shapers last a long time. Had stock runners on my tuners for the apex and the back of the runners wore out very quick and started to wear out the back keel of the ski. Shapers are tough

For me yamaha shapers continuously lost inserts anywhere between 100-300 miles. This was last season. Maybe they are better now, but all that old product is still out there.
Would take them back with my receipt for a refund. They only honored that 3 times and then said they would forward the problem to yamaha and no more refund. Jerks!
Switched to Studboys and they are better, but still loose inserts, but takes a lot longer.
I only ride the trails and when we cross roads/RR tracks etc.. I always try to baby it, and same with plowed fields my buddy's fly through, but who knows?

3 out of my 4 stock carbides were missing on my new sled with out ever being ridden yet. Dealer asked what I wanted for aftermarket replacements and is sending me 4.5 shapers for both inside and outside for free.

I am looking at getting some shaper bars for my new 2015 viper but what do you guys thing I should go with the 6" and 4" combo or the 6" and 6"?

If studded I'd go with 6 all around. I went smaller because I don't have studs.

Do you have a studded track? Did you guys order straight from stud boy? When I go to there site and select the carbide part # for the tuner skis (YAM-S2524) it only shows up with round bar and there is no way for me to select carbide length. Will the carbides for the original tuner skis work with the new deep keel tuner skis on the 2015 viper, maybe I will have to give them a call Monday.

Not sure if these are good or not, but the price is right.
