shock question

This is for the shocks on a zx2. My question is about an observation I noticed. The shocks seems to have a free play at the top of the shock travel before you can feel it catch.(resistance).. is this normal? If not what's the deal? I noticed this when lifting the sled, the sled will hold but I can push down a little then it like catches. I dont know if this has anything to do with the revolver stuff or not. Shocks them self are very strong with only around 1800 miles on them. The problem is kinda hard to describe but hope you understand.

Yes that is the revolver. For the suspension to work and travel properly it relies on the front arm to get the correct action.
