SHOOT-OUT vipers?

they also have aftermarket sleds running
hav a buddy out there with the owner of
the Silver Bullet Cat (doug myers)
He sent me a pic of a Turbo Viper there

Was finishing the clutching on my viper today that will be used on a dealer prep viper. Woodys was testing a turbo viper there as well not sure if that will be shown at the shootout or not. That sled appeared to perform awesome!

Anyone hear any results of the shootout dyno testing? I would think AMSNOW would be putting out this info all week to build interest in the Shootout but they have not said a word about anything. Guess they save it for the spring issue?

Great updates! Viper is right there with the 800s. Those results certainly prove it's above and beyond the skidoo 1200. Top speed who knows but for the viper to be a full second ahead of the 1200 is a big margine

Interesting numbers, but not all those motors were built for drag racing. I would really like to see those same sleds race uphill or in deep snow ;)!

Track stayed in good shape all day. Good hard packed base. They did a good job with the track considering there was about 10-12" of new new overnight. This was the first year in along time that Polaris had the best ET and top MPH. The Viper was 8/10 of a second quicker then the Cat 7000 in the box stock runs. I'm glad Yamaha stayed with their clutches on the Viper, because that was probably the difference in being 8/10 of a second quicker In the 1/4 mile. However after dealer prep. Where clutches can be worked on, the cat picked up 4/10 of a second, and 4 MPH. The Viper stayed the same. The Viper still had the fastest ET, But the Cat 7000 was 2 MPH FASTER at the 1/4 mile. The Ski-Doo 1200 had a Slower ET, but was also faster at the 1/4 mile. Cat's best ET was 12.9 @ 94 MPH, The Vipers best was 12.5 @ 92 MPH, while the Skidoo's best was 13.0 @ 92 MPH. The. skidoo did have a run of 95 MPH, but its ET was 13.9 that time, but I think it was because it spun a lot on that run.

Good question. Funny how Polaris always has top sleds but they never end up being that fast on the trail. Seems a little fishy to me

I have been saying this for YEARS!!!

The funny thing is some people I knew really believed it, then were all bummed out when they got it handed to them. Of course then they just say you are modified to justify it all. :o|
