As I read thru all the posts complaining about the results of the shootout, all the blame is being put on Big Moose Yamaha, and Bender Racing.
What about Yamaha Motor Corp?
Both Big Moose and Bender racing are in buisness to make money, Big Moose has two brands to represent, Arctic Cat and Yamaha. Cat, Polaris, and Ski-Doo provide much help with info and parts, Yamaha provides no support to this event :!:
Bender Racing is there to promote its products not tune the stock sleds.
The chain case failure on Benders RX1 turbo, it was not one failure, but two cases were grenaded. So yes there were spare parts around, just not enough parts or strength to contain 358HP!!!!!!!!!!!
How about a mention of Benders Viper 1000cc stroker that set the top speed EVER for the event @122mph in 1000'.
I do not want to start any kind of pissing match with anyone here, I just think that some people here are being a little too hard on Big Moose Yamaha/Arctic Cat, and Bender Racing who do this and basically do not get paid or get much if any factory support.

Just food for thought

Think Snow

Let the Rx1's get 1000 miles on them and see what the diference is . The results were not that bad considering the power this thing gains during breackin.

I agree with MXZ900 in the aspect that Yamaha never seems to get involved in there product in the real world. They just keep to themselves and do there testing and leave the rest up to the tuners, Cat and all the other manufacturers participate a lot more to make sure they stay on top! Any company that sell's sled's is going to put much more time into a sled that the manufacturer has shown an interest in and is helping promote. I would like to see Yamaha get more envolved with their consumers and dealerships they make one helluva sled but there customer service aint the greatest the dealers around here have had some pretty rough years with no snow and could use a helping hand from big brother. Setting these machines up right can't be cheap.

a different perception thanks MXZ

I was in the pits the day of the shootout. I do not think Bender has anything to do with the setups of the stock Yamaha sleds. The trailer Big Moose had,had a D&D sticker on the side. So I take it D&D clutched the cats and did a good job not Big Moose. I feel Yamaha never had a chance. I don't think they even jetted the sleds on dealer setup. Yamaha needs a new dealer for dealer prep. The way it looked sleds were not brought up to proper running temp, they were backing up at the line with reverse, they sat running at the line loading up no good clean out's, no lube on slides or extra wheel kits to help stop drag. It was a big circus event!!!!!! What bothers me the most win or lose, there was very little effort made. (LATER)

I know for a fact Bender has nothing to do with the stock sled but they did setup the dealer preped sled last year and that's the same setup they ran this year. That's the facts.

Yamaha is to blaim for the shitty factory settings.

Bender is to blaim for the laim dealer prep

Bender did run the Turbo last year is 110 in 1000 feet.

My hats off to bender on the Big power "360 HP".

I just don't see how there going to get it to the ground with the current drive line componets!!! I hope they do. I'm sick of the Cat guys and ther big mouths!!!!!

I think that Yamaha is just not interested in this right now. I think they know that they are definitely onto something with the RX1. I think that in time Yamaha will start to support the drag racing effort again and have a successfull run agian like they had with the SRX.

I think this is no different than when Ford pulled out of the NHRA Pro Stock class years ago after having a very successful run with Glidden (I am not trying to turn this into a Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge thread).

For now...we need to be :) our with RX1s and clean house where we ride. For the most part, snowmobilers are a tight nitch group....word will spread when the Speedshop, ECP prepared RX1s start kick'n @$$.

The competition has absolutely no chance for a Turbo'd RX1
