It is mobile 1 full synthetic,it only has 700 miles on it but it sat all summer. I know the miles is nothing on the oil but I am wondering if sitting all summer i f I should just change it

It may seem like a waste of oil, But I would change it, when it just sits condensation builds in motor/oil. warm it up fully and change oil.

I always change my oil at the end of the winter riding season no matter how many miles I have ridden. There have been some posts about this in the past. Try doing a search. I aim for the maximum care and protection of the motor since I'm looking to keep mine for a pretty long time.

So when you warm it up and the light rust that has been made since storage, gets blended with the oil and runs though your whole motor. IMO I would like to have fresh running thru my 2500 - 4000 $ motor.

Thats why I store it with the oil thats in it, and change to new at the start of every season.

But then your old dirty nasty oil sits in your motor all summer. Corroding and creating rust.

Change at the end of the season, so the dirty nasty oil is out of the motor and the internals are coated with fresh clean oil.

But then the new oil that sat in the motor all summer has probably collected moisture from sitting all summer...heating up all day and cooling off all night! Damn! A guy just can't win!

A constant debate that will probably never end. I say just change it once a year, whenever you want. Whatever makes you feel better.

I think its kinda of a waste of oil, but what do you do, I only put on maybe a 1000 or so miles on full synthetic oil that's not even near fully worn out. But then it sits for the summer months.. What can you do other than have a completely climate controlled garage to stick it in...lol

If you have "light rust" in your engine you have bigger issues my friend. Unless you filled it with water. I guess you guys all have money comming out your arses. Once a season is plenty. Geez its a Yamaha for crying out loud! Go ride it!
Condensation in the Oil System
This is more common than you might think. A weather change from warm, moist weather to cold weather or repeated frost (condensation) on the vehicle and frequent high dew points can create moisture to form in the crankcase. This can appear as condensation in the oil system and under the valve covers. Most of the time vehicles are driven long and far enough so that this condensation is burned off thanks to the heat of the engine.
Is this condensation harmful?
If this is indeed condensation caused from a weather change or infrequent use, then typically it is nothing to worry about. The key is to check your dip stick and exhaust. If you see beads of moisture on the dipstick and white smoke coming out of the exhaust of a warm engine, this can indicate a head gasket leaking coolant into the oil system, which is not good.

If you have a full synthetic oil in it, it should be fine. On the other hand if you run conventional, change it. Conventional (fresh) oil even if run for only 5 minutes creates the carbon that will pit your bearings and bushings while stored. But synthetic oil, no carbon!! I've run mine on amsoil for 3 years for a total 2000 + km's and not a problem. My Harley goes 8000 km's before I change it and most of the time I'm shakin my head wondering why, because it's still so clean.

I just went through this last week. Tyring to decide if I should change the oil in my MTX when it only had 650 kms on it. I ran the sled several times over the summer to keep things circulating, so I decided to leave it for a bit and change it later on. I'm not too worried about it.
