Should I stretch my shorty to a 136?

I stretched my 06 Nytro which has the same skid as the 07-08 RTX to a 144 tip-up. I did have the binding problem until I loosened the track to 11/16" free sag. When I studded the track, I went with 2 studs per paddle and left every 3rd paddle un-studded. It is a bit harder to get around corners but not by much

The main reason that I stretched mine to 144 and installed mountain skis was to be able to break trail into camps, etc. If I never went off trail, I would have gone with 136 tip-up

Also, as others have mentioned, extrovert drivers are a must to be able to run the track looser to prevent binding without ratcheting. Depending on your mileage, you might want to consider replacing your drive shaft too

You can buy a stock driveshaft with drivers already on from Ulmer Racing.

Never could figure out why they made these things in a 121. They spin and dart like crazy with the short track. Funny thing is all the mfg's are going away from the 121 in favor of 128-129.

Tracks USA has a 4" extension to stretch to a 128. Would I need to extend the tunnel? I would like a little bigger foot print, but seeing as I ride the twisties I think the 136 is out.

Great thread because I'm in the same boat.
Did not know that extroverts should be used with the extensions.
You would have thought with the power this sled has they would have came on the sled to begin with.

Apex55, I might stretch my 128 to a 136... if I do so, it will probably be with new rails. So I'll have some 128" available if you choose that length. IMO, the 136" is the best all around length, and probably the best bump version of the Monoshock. Newer versions of the 136" eliminated the cross shaft and special rear arm. If you need parts or even someone to perform the swap, LMK, I'm only about 2.5 hours from you.
